Bus routes for students in Alexandria City Public Schools have been dropped in the mail and are also posted on the schools website at http://www.acps.k12.va.us/transportation/. The schools department of transportation has been working throughout the summer to ensure that students arrive at school safely and on-time.

The schools advise that, despite the summer-long planning effort, the reality is that buses will run late for the first couple of days. As routines become more established, fewer delays occur, they said.

Last year, due to unexpected enrollment increases, adjustments were made during the first two weeks of school. Glitches were promptly corrected with the help of feedback provided by parents and students, ACPS said. This year, as students continue to register, the schools are expecting continued enrollment increases.
