Despite topping W.T. Woodson 55-42 last Friday night for their 12th win of the season, the T.C. Williams boys will head into this Friday’s contest against South County with a 0-15 record after the school discovered two players had been playing ineligibly through January 31.

The Titans’ other two games last week, Monday against Kecoughtan and Tuesday at Lake Braddock, were postponed due to weather. The now-winless Titans have five games left in the regular season before hosting the Patriot District Playoffs on February 16. The Lady Titans (5-13) were off last week, but face South County as well this Friday.

The St. Stephen’s / St. Agnes boys improved to 9-8 on the season with their 74-69 win against Bullis on Tuesday afternoon before the snow took over. The Saints had six players in double figures, led by Jack Hamilton’s 15-point outburst.

The St. Stephen’s girls team (3-11) got their first wins since December last week with victories against Highland School and Madeira before slipping up again on Tuesday against Holy Child. The home stretch begins for the Saints Thursday night at Maret.

Unable to maintain the momentum from their narrow win against backyard rival St. Stephen’s, the Episcopal boys (10-5) dropped back-to-back games last week against Georgetown Prep and Landon. With just three games left in the regular season, the Maroon are still jockeying for position in the Interstate Athletic Conference standings. The Maroon girls (1-13) were unable to venture into the win column last week, losing 73-49 to Georgetown Visitation on Friday night.

At Bishop Ireton, the boys (6-13) were in the running for upset of the week last Sunday when they took area No. 1 Gonzaga to the wire before falling 73-67 in overtime. The Cardinals got 27 points from Antonio Rouse and 20 points from Pat Hanifan in the losing effort and look to games this week against Bishop McNamara (Friday) and St. John’s (Tuesday). The Ireton girls (9-14) dropped their only contest of the week last Friday night in a 59-49 loss to Archbishop Carroll. The Cardinals face off with McNamara and St. John’s as well this week.
