A spring break trip to Florida for the T.C. WILLIAMS baseball team was just the tonic the Titans needed. Entering on the heels of a 10-4 loss to district foe W.T. Woodson, T.C. started with another loss but came home with two straight wins.

On Monday, the Titans (4-2) made it three in a row with an 11-6 home win against Liberty (Md.). They faced Lee Wednesday night and continue their Patriot District schedule with games against West Springfield (Friday) and South County (Tuesday).

After kicking off their season with a win against city rivals Bishop Ireton, ST. STEPHEN’S / ST. AGNES has slumped to four straight losses. Last week, St. Stephen’s (1-4) dropped games against West Potomac, Flint Hill and Paul VI, each by 10 or more runs. The Saints host Bullis today at 4:30 p.m.

It took a couple of weeks, but young BISHOP IRETON finally broke through into the win column on Saturday with a 4-2 win against West Potomac. Life had been rough before that, though, with eight straight losses to begin the season including two one-run defeats. Ireton’s winning ways were short-lived, as they dropped Tuesday’s game 9-7 against Potomac. The Cardinals (1-8) travel to St. Mary’s Ryken this Saturday for a 1 p.m. game.

Going into Tuesday afternoon, EPISCOPAL was the only Alexandria school other than T.C. to have a record above .500. The Maroon’s 7-6 win on April 1 against Mt. Vernon moved them to 3-2 on the season, buoyed by George Reefer’s first win of the season. They hit the heart of their IAC schedule this week with games against Georgetown Prep (Thursday) and St. Stephen’s (Tuesday).
