Sixty restaurants throughout the city will participate in this years restaurant week, the first Alexandria Restaurant Week to take place in the summer. It begins August 20 and runs through August 29.
During the event, dining enthusiasts will be able to take advantage of either $35 prix-fixe three-course dinners or a $35 dinner for two, depending on the establishment. A $3.50 sweet treat will be offered at participating local bakeries, chocolate shops and dessert shops.
Restaurant Week menus and online reservations are available at www.visitalexandriava.com, the Alexandria Convention and Visitors Associations website.
This 10-day gourmet and gourmand event enables residents and visitors to enjoy tantalizing multi-course meals and distinctive treats prepared especially for the occasion, showcasing the inventive culinary diversity offered throughout the city, according to an ACVA spokesperson. From fabulous fine dining to casual neighborhood favorites and tasty little delights, Alexandria Restaurant Week offers something for everyone.
In addition to serving as an economic driver for Alexandria restaurants, Restaurant Week will build the Alexandria brand as it helps the city to become known as a culinary destination, according to an ACVA statement.
