The Alexandria Aces, local summer collegiate baseball affiliate, will kick off the teams fourth season in the Port City with a day at the links at Potomac Ridge Golf Club May 16.

Money raised by the benefit will pay for new uniforms, bats and other ball club accessories. Participants can expect to meet Corey Haines, the Aces new coach. Registration is $125 per player.

The Aces play in the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League, a wooden bat league made up of amateur players hailing from a variety of colleges and universities across the country.

The 2011 season kicks off June 3, with the Aces hosting the Reston River Dogs at 7:30 p.m. at the Frank E. Mann Field at Four Mile Run Park. For more information about the golf tournament, log on to www.alexandriaaces.org.
