Audiences gave a standing ovation after the Alexandria Harmonizers delivered a bronze-medal performance at the 73rd Annual International Barbershop Harmony Society Competition the Olympics of a cappella in Kansas City on Friday.
    
Under the direction of Joe Cerutti, the Harmonizers have collected 15 medals in previous competitions and have four international medalist quartets within its ranks. This years competition hosted 29 other choruses, 50 barbershop quartets and 21 collegiate quartets from around the world. 
    
The 100-member chorus has performed at the White House, Carnegie Hall and Disneyland, among other popular venues. They provide support and scholarships to vocal music programs for children in the D.C. area.
