The Bishop Ireton Cardinals eked out a narrow, 51-50 win against Wilson Tuesday, their first victory since falling to No. 2 ranked Paul VI Catholic a week prior.

The two squads were neck-and-neck early on, Ireton leading 19-17 as the halftime buzzer sounded. Despite an impressive third quarter performance by Wilson — they put up 24 points — Ireton pulled away in the end.

Junior forward Da’von Wiley led the Cardinals in scoring, racking up 14 points in the win. Sophomore guard Taylor McHugh had an 8-point night.

The 5-2 Cardinals take on St. John’s Friday before heading to Germantown Academy on December 28.
