Dublin native and famed Alexandria restaurateur Cathal Armstrong will headline Washington’s 41st annual St. Patrick’s Day parade, organizers announced this week.

Armstrong, the man behind the meal at Restaurant Eve, Virtue Feed and Grain and The Majestic, among others, will serve as grand marshal when the parade makes its way down Constitution Avenue March 11. This year’s theme is, fittingly, “feed the soul and nourish the palate.”

The appointment is the latest sign of success in a historic year for Armstrong, who added Virtue and Society Fair to his family of eateries in the past 12 months and cooked for President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama on their wedding anniversary in October.
