This spectacular, freestanding Federal home is rich in history, passing through the hands of some of the city’s most well-known and respected families.

The property remained a residence until the late 1950s, when it was converted into a nursing school for the Alexandria Hospital. It reverted to a home with additions following the ‘80s and late ‘90s.

The brick exterior and outdoors feature  beautiful wrought-iron grillwork and rails, which surround well-designed gardens, like a water and spa garden. There also are dining and kitchen gardens, which create seamless indoor-outdoor living spaces.

The interior contains original wood flooring throughout, soaring ceilings with beautiful moldings and floor-to-ceiling windows with original glass. There are three fireplaces: a marble one in the living room, a double hearth that can be enjoyed from the dining room and family room, and a kitchen fireplace. The rooms are generous, light-filled and ideal for entertaining as well as family living.
