Quick Takes

Thumbs up to the Alexandria Seaport Foundation for being chosen to build a replica whaleboat as part of the restoration of the Charles W. Morgan, a 172-year-old whaling ship. It’s a tribute to the Foundation’s shipbuilders and helpers to be selected to build this whaleboat. Hopefully this will bring more attention to the Foundation and its mission.

Thumbs up to Wesley Aten and Aurora Vasquez, who have just been named co-executive directors of Tenants and Workers United in Arlandria. The organization, which is an important voice for immigrant and low-income residents, had been without an official leader since the fall. We wish you well in your new post and welcome your input on the Times editorial pages.
