The modern Hoffman Town Center may seem an unlikely spot for some traditional French cuisine, but Yves Bistro on 235 Swamp Fox Road delivers just that.

Yves is both inviting and traditional, while its European style and gentle pace contrasts well with the hustle and bustle outside its door.

There is never a bad time to dine at Yves Bistro, especially as the breakfast menu has become very popular in its own right. The three egg omelette, Eggs Benedict or Eggs Norwegian are all notable dishes, while the Croque Monsieur and the Croque Madame have gained such acclaim they can be ordered at any time of day.

In addition to the breakfast offerings, the lunch menu also has plenty of highlights. This fall, two favorite house specialties are the Marengo of Lamb Stew “Cote d’Azur” and the mouthwatering Ragout of Salmon with mushrooms, peas and dill cream sauce. The Broiled Whole Maine Lobster and Beef a la Bourguignonne also are crowd-pleasing items. For those with a sweet tooth, the chef always offers a beautifully presented “Featured Dessert” each day and there also is a daily wine special.

Diners find little reason to resist the food and wine deal on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday nights from 6:30 to 10 p.m. of two entrees and a bottle of wine for just $34. The wine selection changes each week, while there are a wide variety of entree choices that includes Ravioli Du Jour, fresh salmon and curry lamb stew.

There is something for everyone at Yves Bistro, an ideal place to stop by at any time of the day or evening for some authentic French fare.

Yves Bistro is open Monday to Thursday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday, 8 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.; Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.; and Sunday, 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. For more information, call 703-329-1010 or visit www.yvesbistrova.com
