Record Runners Gobble Up Turkey Trot
More than 3,500 runners raced through the streets of Del Ray Thanksgiving morning for the 34th running of Alexandria’s 5-mile Turkey Trot race. Top honors went to two local elite runners, with 24-year-old Andrew Dumm, above, winner of the 2008 Marine Corps Marathon, finishing first among the men with a time of 23:58.1 and Katie Read, 23, leading the ladies in 28:04.0.
