Public Invited to Converse with Student Achievement Expert

ACPS is inviting parents and community members to join in Imagine the Titans: Equity and Excellence, a forum featuring Dr. Ronald F. Ferguson, director of the Achievement Gap Initiative at Harvard University. The conversation will address the topic of High Achievement for Each and Every Student: Challenges and Solutions.

T.C. Senior Named 2010 National Achievement Semifinalist

Jacobi B. Hines, a T.C. Williams student, is one of more than 1,600 African American high school seniors designated as a semifinalist in the 46th annual National Achievement Scholarship Program conducted by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. The semifinalists can continue in the competition for the roughly 800 Achievement Scholarship awards, which will be distributed next spring.

City Schools to Participate in Federal Tutoring Pilot Program

Mount Vernon, Patrick Henry and William Ramsay elementary schools and all five of the citys public middle schools will participate in the U.S. Department of Education Supplemental Educational Services Pilot during the current school year.
