American Legion Post # 24 of Old Town will host a Veterans breakfast
beginning at 10 a.m. Everyone is invited to stop by and learn of the programs offered by the Post and enjoy breakfast. Second Thursday Art Night,
6-9 p.m., Torpedo Factory Art Center. In collaboration with KSMET, the Art Center will be celebrate the theme Alive with History. Browse open studios and galleries, interact with the artists, and enjoy refreshments. Explore facets of Torpedo Factory history with a fun scavenger hunt. Commerce Banks Canine Carnivale.
Dog lovers and their pets can enjoy some fun-in-the-sun. This pet pampering party is open to the public and will feature unique activities for dogs and their parents including: Doggy Costume Parade, Professional dog training tips from Peggies Pet Services, dogs for adoption, free pet photos, and more. Registration Opens for ACVAs Fun Siders Tourism Class.
The Alexandria Convention & Visitors Association will host its Fun Siders tourism training class at 8:30 a.m. 1 p.m., at City Hall, Room 2000. A registration fee of $15 pays for a resource notebook and coffee/sweet rolls. Registration forms are available through Steve Zimmermann at szimmermann@funside.com. This half-day program includes a brief history of the city and guided walking tour.

Conference for young adult survivors of childhood cancer,
Physicians Conference Center, Inova Fairfax Hospital, 3300 Gallows Road, Falls Church, 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. Learn more about medical concerns and psychosocial issues experienced by young adult survivors of childhood cancer with an emphasis on education and empowerment. The conference is sponsored by the Inova Life with Cancer program and Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children with a grant from the National Childrens Cancer Society. Free. Lunch provided.
