Actuaries have calculated the chance of an average golfer making a hole in one at about 12,500 to 1. For Alexandria Rotarian Lonnie Marchant, the Golfi ng Gods (and actuaries) were with him on Wednesday, as he hit the ball directly from the tee into the cup with one shot.

Holes in one are extremely rare, and for Marchant, the spoils of the lucky shot were sweet: A brand new $30,000 Saturn Aura, courtesy of Alexandria Saturn.

Guess good things happen to good people, said Alexandria Rotary President-elect Steve Wharton. Chimed in Saturn of Alexandria Marketing VP John Herrity, who now must hand over the keys: Unbelievable, just unbelievable.
