Teenager assaulted and robbed


A 14-year-old girl from Burke was assaulted and robbed on Saturday, May 10 just after midnight. The girl was going with friends to meet an acquaintance in the area of Oak Leather Drive and Burr Oak Way. The victim was confronted by a group of juveniles who allegedly began assaulting her and demanded her cell phone and jacket. After she gave up her phone and jacket, the victim was able to run to a nearby home for assistance. The victim was taken for medical treatment by her mother for non life-threatening injuries.

An investigation led to 6 girls and 4 boys, ranging in age from 12 to 15, each being charged with assault by mob, robbery and malicious wounding. The arrested juveniles live in Fairfax, Loudoun and Stafford Counties.
