The Cheese Lady writes us
Amanda Lenks article in The Alexandria Times last week on Cheesetiques new location was just amazing. I read it aloud to my staff, all of whom have been working triple-time lately.

Everyone was thrilled and very moved by the lovely description of our new location.

Dermot Mulroneys local roots
I am wrting to correct an error in the listing of former alums from the former George Washington High School.

Actor Dermot Mulroney, who grew up in Rosemont, was listed as having graduated from G.W. in 1978.

Actually, Dermot Mulroney attended G.W. for the ninth and tenth grades from September 1977 to June 1979.

G.W. and Hammond at that time were 9th and 10th grade feeder schools for T.C. Williams.  After finishing the 10th grade at G.W. in 1979, Dermot Mulroney went onto attend T.C. Williams for the 11th and 12th grades, graduating with the class of 1981.

In addition to Jim Morrison or The Doors, two other rock stars of the 1960s once attended G.W. in the 1950s: John Phillips and Cass Elliot of The Mamas And The Papas.
