Mount Vernon’s 4th of July festivities had something for everyone of all ages from performances by the National Concert Band of America and The First Virginia Regiment.Iin addition to posing for photographs with George and Martha Washington one could enjoy ringing the replica of the Liberty Bell and having a piece of birthday cake. The Sons of the America Revolution began the day with a wreath-laying ceremony at the tomb George Washington. Later, the Declaration of Independence was read to a large crowd gathered on the grounds.
