Alexandria police are investigating a shooting that occurred Saturday morning in the 100 block of South Royal Street.

On Saturday, around 1:30 a.m. police were called for the report of a shooting. Officers arrived on the scene and located the victim. The victim suffered from a gunshot wound to the arm. He was transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The victim reports that he was shot during an attempted robbery while in the 100 block of South Royal Street.
