Friendship Fire Company at 107 South Alfred Street will celebrate its 234th anniversary from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Shown at left, Alexandrias first volunteer fire company was established in 1774. The current building, constructed in 1855 and later remodeled and renovated, replaces one that was destroyed by fire that same year.
