Police are investigating an apparent burglary that occurred while the homeowner was asleep inside. On Saturday, July 12 at 1 p.m. the owner, a 52-year-old McLean-area woman, called police to report the burglary. An investigation determined the victim awoke around 9 a.m. that same morning and discovered her dog missing and her back gate open. She located her dog outside. Upon re-entering the home, located in the 1300 block of McCay Lane, she saw that several items were missing, to include her purse and a laptop computer.

It appeared that between 6:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. the suspect entered the home through two locked garage doors. The victims credit cards were used at several locations in the McLean area that morning.
