Alexandria police have arrested Randy Baldon, 25, of 240 South Reynolds Street, for the Tuesday night murder of Darrell Marcus Williams, Jr., a 35-year-old man of no fixed address.

Police were called to the 200-block of South Whiting Street around 8:30 p.m. after receiving a report of shots being fired. Williams died at the scene. An autopsy confirmed the cause of death to be multiple gun shot wounds.

Baldon was charged with first degree murder.

This is the third homicide in Alexandria this year. There were eight homicides in Alexandria in all of 2007.
