Smoot Lumber Co., owned by Raleigh-based Stock Building Supply Inc. will remain in Alexandria for another nine years.

This week, Smoot renewed its lease at 6295 Edsall Road in Alexandria for 172,000 square feet through at least 2017, a company official said Monday.

Smoot’s complex has two single-story buildings with 504,000 square feet on 34 acres. The complex houses 15 tenants and is currently 100 percent leased, according to the Washington Business Journal.

Smoot is a leading supplier of building materials and construction services and has been the lead tenant in the Edsall complex since 1990.
