Citing personal reasons in a letter to parents, Reed wrote: As of this year, both of my own children will be in school and I am entering the final stages of my doctoral studies. Each of these facets of my life means a great deal to me which added to the difficulty of my decision.
The principal also wrote: For the past six years I have been utterly committed to making Cora Kelly the best school for your children. I have worked with superb educators in shaping a learning environment that allows each child to blossom and excel . . ..
He also said, Cora Kelly is in a good place and will continue to thrive under the leadership of the new superintendent and the incoming principal.

The search process has already begun.[Reeds] seemingly endless energy, enthusiasm and passion were a big part of why we entered the school lottery with Cora Kelly as our first choice, said parent Carolyn Semedo.
