Under the direction of Head Coach Joe Halm, the Episcopal Boys Varsity Cross Country team took top honors at the prestigious Alexandria Championships Wednesday, with T.C. Williams taking top honors in the girls varsity division.

Episcopal sophomore Reid Nickel finished 1st overall for the boys after briefly being challenged by Danny Ackerman of T.C. Williams. Pete Markoski, Ben Schuford, Bernie Hutcheson and Tom Peabody finished 4th, 6th, 7th and 12th respectively in leading the Episcopal team to victory.

The impressive scoring pack of the T.C. Williams Lady Titans was never seriously challenged as they took home top honors in the girls varsity race. Top-finisher Shannon Smythe was supported by Sarah Bryan, Adugma Desalegn, Erika Weidman and Claire McNab.

In the Junior Varsity races, Episcopal, led by Jake Love, was again victorious in the boys race, while Abby Halm led T.C. in an impressive perfect score victory for the girls.

Seven runners each from Bishop Ireton, T.C. Williams, St. Stephens/St. Agnes and Episcopal competed in the 3.1-mile event.
