What better way to enjoy the winter season than freshly shucked oysters, from both the East and West Coast, for $1 an oyster at Hanks Oyster Bar in Old Town beginning January 8th through the month of March.  This special happy hour offering is available from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM, Sunday through Thursday.   

We are bringing this happy hour offering back as it was wildly popular last winter at the Hanks Oyster in the District.  Valentines Day falls on a Thursday this year so couples can start off their romantic evening with a dozen oysters at a great price before continuing on with dinner plans, said owner Jamie Leeds. 

Additionally, both restaurants are shaking up a new Hanks Naked Chocolate Martini complete with a bittersweet chocolate rim, another wonderful ending to a Valentines Day date. The new libation is priced at $11, which is a delicious option for chocolate lovers made with crme de cacao, Stoli Vanilla vodka and finished with an edible rose petal.  

Chef/Owner Jamie Leeds and Partner Sandy Lewis opened Hanks Oyster Bars second location in September of 2007 at 1026 King Street, in Old Town Alexandria (703) 739-HANK (4265), complementing the popular Dupont Circle neighborhood location. Both restaurants features the signature Hanks design with exposed brick, chalkboard and offer intimate spaces with 65 seats in the DC restaurant and 50 seats in Alexandria.  

The hours of operation at Hanks in Old Town Alexandria are lunch Tuesday-Friday 11:30 AM 2:30 PM, dinner Tuesday-Friday 5:30 PM 10:00 PM. On Saturday and Sunday, Hanks in Old Town is open all day for a la carte brunch starting at 11 AM, and serves dinner until 11 PM on Saturday and until 9 PM on Sunday.
