A 25-year-old Alexandria-area woman was abducted at gunpoint on Saturday, June 21 shortly before 6 a.m. The victim was standing alone at a bus stop in front of Beacon Center in the 6700 block of Richmond Highway. A man approached her and asked if she wanted a ride. She declined and said she would wait for the bus.
The suspect produced a handgun and forced the victim into his vehicle. They drove a short distance when the victim took out her cell phone. They struggled over the phone until the suspect stopped the vehicle and told the victim to get out. She exited the vehicle and was not injured. The suspect fled on Richmond Highway in the area of Popkins Lane.
The suspect was described as a dark-skin black man in his mid 30s. He was about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build. He had short, dark hair and was clean shaven. The vehicle was described as a mid-size, gray SUV, with dark, tinted windows.
