A family that digs together stays together. Well, perhaps that is not quite how the old saying goes, but all of the families who came to the Alexandria Archaeologys Family Dig Day had fun learning about being archeologists for the afternoon. They screened excavated soil from the dig being conducted on the grounds of the George Washington Masonic Temple.  The city supplied all necessary materials and the would-be Indiana Joneses learned firsthand all about the process involved in an archaeological dig. Eight year old Cole Towers, who recently moved to Alexandria from Hawaii with his family, said that he had never done anything like the dig before, but he hoped that he will be lucky enough to do it with my family next time there is a Family Dig Day.
