Families and parade enthusiasts will not want to miss this annual tradition. The 12th Annual Del Ray Halloween Parade is scheduled for Sunday, October 26, 2008 at 2 p.m. Last year, more than 5,000 participated in this annual event which included over 2,000 children, special dignitaries and elected officials; over 50 pets in Halloween costumes; and 25 decorated strollers.
The parade will begin at 2 p.m. at Mt. Vernon Avenue, south of E. Bellefonte and continue down to the Mount Vernon Recreational Center play fields at Mt. Vernon and Commonwealth Avenues. Children, pets, and strollers in costumes are invited to march and show off their finest and scariest Halloween garb. To register your stroller, please look for the registration desk at Bellefonte and Mt. Vernon Avenues beginning at 1:30 p.m. For Pet Registration, there is a new location – it will begin at 1:30 at Barkley Square at 2006 Mt. Vernon Avenue.
