A man convicted of strong armed rape of a child in Alexandria was arrested in Orlando, Fla., last week after he apparently cut off his electronic monitoring device October 7, fleeing south.

Jeffrey Lynn Dourville, 40, was arrested in 1999 on rape charges. He was paroled this summer after serving nine years of a 20-year jail sentence.

Alexandria Police sought Dourville since October 7 when they issued a warrant for the fugitives arrest. Authorities believed he may have gone to Florida because he had family in the area and, after several days of surveillance, The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Dourville after he fled from a home into a wooded area.

He was booked into the Orange County Jail and will be returned to authorities in Virginia.
