FOOD NOTES – Roof Terrace celebrates The Lion King

In honor of the king of the jungle roaring into the Kennedy Center on Thursday, June 26th, the Roof Terrace Restaurant has created a one-time only special family offer that will be extended throughout the musicals run. Executive Chef Joe Gurner and Chef de Cuisine Karen Hayes will showcase two family-focused pre-fixe menus one for adults and one for children and delectable lion inspired desserts. The Mane Event, a paw printed Chocolate Passion Fruit Cake with a tropical fruit salad and coconut ice cream will appear on the adult menu and the Little Lions Pride, a Summer Berry Trifle, will be an offering on the childrens menu.

Before viewing the world renowned theater performance of Disneys The Lion King, theater-goers can make reservations for the whole pack and dine as a family in the elegant Roof Terrace Restaurant from Thursday, June 26th through Sunday, August 24th. Spending quality time at dinner before the musical, will help elevate the evening to a favorite-family memory.

The pre-fixe childrens menu priced at $15 will include a drink, either soda, juice or milk; a choice of Grilled Chicken Tenders with coleslaw, Grilled Sliced Beef Tip with Yukon gold potatoes, or Tortellini Tri Color with a pomodoro sauce and parmesan cheese; and the Little Lions Pride dessert. The adult pre-fixe menu is priced at $35 and will include a choice of a Mixed Green Salad or Soup; entre items such as Roasted White Eggplant Napoleon with tomatoes, goat cheese and summer succotash and Grilled Beef Tip with roasted new potatoes and haricot vert; and The Mane Event dessert.
