


Cecilia Turnbough, an accountant at George Washingtons Mt. Vernon Estate and Gardens, died Sunday afternoon while training to be a firefighter in Prince William County.
A member out of Dale City, the 42-year-old Turnbough was a veteran of eight years serving as an EMT and was training in a maze as part of a Firefighter I class when she collapsed at the countys training academy in Nokesville. She was later pronounced dead at Prince William Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Chris, who is also a volunteer lieutenant at Dale City. The Turnboughs have three children.
According to Dale City VFD officials, funeral arrangements are unknown at this time. Her oldest son Chris, also a member of the department, is deployed on a Navy ship and it is expected to take several days before he returns home.
