Local restaurant veterans Nicole Landini and John Jarecki have teamed up to open The Light Horse restaurant on King Street in the heart of Old Town.

Named after Light Horse Harry Lee, the restaurant opened to accolades from family and friends at a private gathering Thursday evening and to the public Monday.

Featuring classic American pub fare and comfort food, the menu also gives a slight nod to ingredients and preparation that were common to 18th century Alexandria.
Landini, with several years of experience working with her father, Piero, and uncle, Franco, at Landini Brothers, joins forces with Jarecki, formerly of the Neighborhood Restaurant Group, whose restaurants include Vermillion and Rustico.

The Light Horse is located at 715 King Street in the space previously occupied by Bistro Europa.
