A new magazine dedicated to canine-inspired living has been distributed to 10,000 dog-lovers in the D.C.-metro area. 2Hounds Productions, an Alexandria-based company, mailed the premiere issue of NOVADog Magazine on January 12. The issue will also be distributed through various pet venues including the Super Pet Expo in March. According to www.DogFriendly.com, the Northern Virginia area is seventh on the Top 10 list of Dog-Friendly cities in the United States and Canada.

NOVADog Magazine is the brainchild of publisher and long-time Virginia resident Janelle Welch, whose two dogs Jake and Chance are the inspiration behind 2Hounds Productions. Welch brings a lifetime of dog ownership and over 17 years of publishing experience to the production of NOVADog. NOVADog Magazine fills a unique niche. There are a wealth of great D.C. dog destinations, hiking locations and other resources but many are hidden, unpublicized gems. Until now, there has not been a publication that features them in one place for dog-lovers to find and enjoy, Welch said.
