The season rolls on for the T.C. Williams girls and boys basketball teams who each won their second round Northern Region playoff games Wednesday night to advance to the regional semifinals.

The Titan girls, led by McDonald’s All-American Tierra Ruffin-Pratt’s 18 points, beat the Robinson Rams quite handily, 68-48, in the first half of the double-header. Robinson was the squad that knocked T.C. out of last year’s regional tournament, ending their perfect season. Charnelle Huggins had 15 points and Jasmine Norman added 12 for the Titans, who improve to 23-4 for the season.

T.C. Williams will take on Westfield this Friday at 8:00 p.m. in the semifinals, which are being held at Robinson High School.

The boys team squeaked out a 45-41 win over Stuart to keep its season alive, securing their semifinal berth on Saturday against Lee. Trailing 16-15 at halftime, the Titans came back to win in the second half behind 12 points from Edward Jenkins, the Patriot District’s Co-Player of the Year.

Saturday’s game is at 7:00 p.m., also at Robinson.
