Teams from Alexandrias Hot Topic All Stars took home Grand Champion awards at the Mid-Atlantic Open regional cheerleading competition at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond last weekend.

The Rising Stars, comprised of girls ages 6-11, and the Lightning Stars, ages 12-14, both took home the highest honors in their respective competitions.

Competing against 27 other teams from around the region, the Rising Stars took home 1st place and Grand Champion honors in the Level 1 competition, while the Lightning Stars repeated that feat in the Level 2 category.

The Twinkle Stars, ages 4-5, placed second in their competition group.
All of the Hot Topic teams will be performing at the City Wide Cheerleading competition to be held at T.C. Williams High School on April 18.
