Vicky Roberts, a social worker at T.C. Williams High Schools STEP Center/Academy 1, was named Alexandrias 2009 Ally in Prevention awardee by Stop Child Abuse Now of Northern Virginia and the Allies in Prevention Coalition. Roberts was recognized on April 1 for being one of five in the region who go above and beyond in their efforts to prevent child abuse and neglect and support the children and families of our community.

The Alexandria Commission for Women held its 29th annual Salute to Women Awards Monday night, timed in conjunction with Womens History Month. Those honored were selected from a pool of 17 nominees.
