SkillsUSA Competition Success for Local Students

Four T.C. Williams High School students were recognized at the Virginia SkillsUSA competition held in Hampton, Va. from March 27 to 29. Daniel Ardura and Sean Colligan placed third in the On-site Live TV Productions competition, while Ruhama Yared took third place in Commercial Baking and Mark Niebauer finished fourth in Silk Screening.

Jazzmine Steele, Tiarra Peterson, Julora Lawhorn and TaeAndrha Whistleman also competed in the Occupational Scrapbooking portion of the competition.

SkillsUSA is a student organization for trade and industrial programs and is a parternership of students, instructors and representatives from various industries whose mission is to help maintain a skilled workforce for America. The organization aids teachers, and high school and college students preparing for careers in different trades, technical occupations as well as health occupations.
