This Saturday, T.C. Williams will host the 27th annual installment of its signature sporting event, the T.C. Williams Track and Field Invitational.

This years invitational meet will be the first competition held on the schools newly remolded track and field facility. Recent upgrades make it possible to hold a 2000-meter steeplechase for high school athletes.
As an added bonus, meet organizers have invited some of the top female steeplechase competitors from around the country. Teaming up with its co-sponsor, the Potomac Valley Track Club, T.C. meet organizers have confirmed that Kristin Anderson, Lesley Higgins, Jacqueline Concaugh, Delilah DiCrescenzo and Shauneen Garrahanlrene will compete in the elite 3000-meter event at 12:45 p.m.
The T.C. track team is coming off of an appearance at the Penn Relays at the University of Pennsylvania, one of the nations premier annual track and field events. Tynita Butts, T.C.s three-time national champion jumper, took first place for the second straight year in the girls long jump. The boys 4×400-meter relay team of Yasir Hussein, Willie Murphy, Reward Asonye and Malcolm Cameron also had a solid showing, taking third place with the programs fastest time in three years.
