The Episcopal High School softball team is sitting at 8-2 after picking up two wins within 18 hours last Friday and Saturday.

In Fridays game, the Maroon beat Stone Ridge 5-1 in what coach Guy Dezarn called the teams most complete effort of the season. Led by Caroline Moncure and Jenny Wards hot bats at the plate and backed up by a stout defense, Episcopal ace Nancy Walker was able to pick up her seventh win of the season. Ward went 3-3 on the game.

On Saturday, Episcopal came back from a 4-0 deficit to knock off Madeira 7-6. Walker survived a rough first inning and proceeded to retire the nine straight batters she closed out the final two innings retiring all six batters she faced to get her eighth victory of the year.

Mary Adams put the Maroon ahead for good with the game-winning two-RBI single late in the game, while Moncure was perfect at the plate again, going 4-4. Elani Hadjis and Lallie Lukens each had two hits for Episcopal, which closes out the regular season with six games in eight days before the ISL playoffs begin May 9.
