The T.C. Williams boys track team finished fifth overall, while the girls side ended up in seventh place at last weeks two-day Northern Region outdoor track championships held at Lake Braddock.
The boys sprinters collected the bulk of T.C.s 47 points. In the 100-meter dash, Rushane Wilson took third in a time of 11.08 seconds, while teammates Cortez Taylor and Reward Asonye took fifth and sixth, respectively. In the 200-meter dash, Wilson took fifth, ahead of Taylors seventh place finish. The Titans 4×100-meter relay team came in second place, their time of 42.44 seconds just 0.14 seconds off the pace set by Stone Bridge. In the field events, Marc Grosser finished fourth in the high jump and sixth in the triple jump, while Zachary Goehler finished fourth in the discus with a throw of 149 feet, 5 inches.
All-American Tynita Butts led the way once again for the girls team, taking first place in the high jump and the long jump. Latona Jackson came in third in the discus with a throw of 105 feet, 10 inches. Erika Weidman finished seventh in the 800-meter run, and the Titans 4×800-meter relay squad ended fifth.
