Bridgette Wanzer-McCoy led the way for T.C. Williams students taking part in the recent Family, Career and Community Leaders of America state leadership and recognition conference in Virginia Beach.

Wanzer-McCoy was the recipient of a $5,000 scholarship from Baltimore International College and a $1,000 scholarship from Johnson and Wales University, in addition to a plaque for her performance during the job interview event, part of the Students Taking Action with Recognition competition. In July, she will advance to the national competition in Nashville, Tenn.

Several other T.C. students were noted for the skills and knowledge they demonstrated during the competition. Valencia Covington received a bronze in Entrepreneurship, Nycole Bell garnered a bronze in interpersonal communications and Melaine Gonzalez also took home a bronze in focus on Children.
