Burke&Herbert Bank & Trust Company recently announced that W. Scott McSween has been appointed as president and chief operating officer, effective July 13, 2009.
Mr. McSween joins the bank following 12 years as executive vice president of the retail banking division at Chevy Chase Bank, which was acquired by Capital One Financial Corporation earlier this year. Mr. McSween joined Chevy Chase Bank following 20 years at BayBanks in Massachusetts.

Hunt Burke will now assume the role of chief executive officer and Charlie Collum will continue to serve as chairman of the board.
