Williams Shines in Richmond, Now Headed to Nationals

Just hours after officially graduating from St. Stephens and St. Agnes last Saturday morning, Danielle Williams traveled to Richmond to compete in the MileStat.com Elite Track Gala. There, Williams won the 100-meter dash in 12.03 seconds her best time of the year and the 200-meter dash in 24.79 seconds, her second best time ever in that event.

St. Stephens track coach Scott McLeod said, I was pleased with her time and her effort considering she had been up since 6 a.m. on Saturday and had to wait until about 5:30 p.m. to compete.

Williams is now looking to ride that momentum a little bit further, having qualified for the Nike Outdoor Nationals slated for June 18 to June 20 at North Carolina A&T in Greensboro. At nationals Williams last competition in a Saints uniform she will compete in the 100 and the 200, as well as the 4×100-meter relay when she teams up with freshman Lauren Martin and juniors Briana Richardson and Mya Reid.
