Waterfront Park was particularly green Saturday, as all things Celtic were celebrated at the citys annual Irish Festival.
The Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities and the Ballyshaners, Inc. helped sponsor the free event, which serves as a fundraiser for the citys St. Patricks Day Parade in March.
The days entertainment featured the ONeill-James School of Dance, Brook Yoder, Pat Garvey, the Culkin School of Dance, Pat Carroll, the Flying Cows of Ventry, the City of Alexandria Pipes and Drums and the Lieutenant Colonel Dowd Division A. O. H. Color Guard. Exhibits at the Irish Festival highlighted traditional arts, crafts, jewelry, paintings and souvenirs.
