Ambassador Girl Scout Troop No. 4088 of Alexandria recently won a National Level Junior American Citizens contest.
Each year a new theme is determined for the contest that is open to all pre-school through 12th grade students in three categories: gifted, general and special needs individuals. This years theme was Land of Opportunity.
The Kate Waller Barrett Chapter of the Virginia Daughters of the American Revolution sponsored the troop, which received the state level award at the 113th Virginia State Conference of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution. The troops winning entry went on to win the National DAR award and the scouts were presented with that award at the chapters September meeting.
