The T.C. Williams golf team recorded a first under head coach Dee Marrara last Wednesday when all six golfers carded a 45 or better at Twin Lakes en route to the Titans’ second-place finish in a three-way meet against Lake Braddock and Lee.
The Titans paced by a trio of 42s from Garrett Kennedy, Matt Kilby and Zach VeShancey finished at 169 for the nine-hole match, nine shots behind hosts Lake Braddock (160) and 19 shots better than last-placed Lee (188).
Marrara said her team’s “course management and consistency” made all the difference in their performance, which featured only three players with one double. “The elimination of big numbers is making a huge difference in our team’s success,” she said.
The Titans are off until September 16 when they play West Potomac at Belle Haven Country Club.
