Gov. Tim Kaine hopped from shoe boutique to coffe house to cupcake shop in Old Town Tuesday, stopping to speak with local small business owners about their role in the citys economy and the states tourism industry, which is rated as one of the best in the country, he announced earlier at the Alexandria Hilton.
Above, Kaine speaks with an employee at Grape and Bean, a coffee house and wine shop on Royal Street. From left are owner of the shop David Gwathmey, Gov. Kaine, President of the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce Tina Leone and City Councilman Frank Fannon. Alexandria business plays a role in the citys tourism industry, but so does its historic appeal and open park space, Kaine said.
