Episcopal was unable to make it two wins in a row to start the young season as they lost 13-6 at home to Fork Union Military Academy on Saturday.

The Maroon (1-1) fell behind in the first quarter after the Blue Devils Akeem Garnett hauled in a 25-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Richard Quittenton, but answered before halftime with Connor Gallegoss 42-yard field goal. Andre Parkers 5-yard touchdown run in the third quarter proved to be the winning score for Fork Union, which moved to 4-0 with the narrow win.

Episcopal quarterback Hunter deButts led his team offensively, going 6-for-18 passing (61 yards and an interception) and adding 92 yards rushing, while junior kicker Gallegos was 2-for-2 kicking, also tacking on a 34-yard field goal in the third quarter.

Although it was ultimately a losing effort the Maroons six points were the first scored this season on Fork Union, which entered the game a perfect 3-0, including two 40-0 shutout victories.
This Saturday, Episcopal hosts the Collegiate School at 1 p.m. at the Hummel Bowl.
