Running on their home turf at Saturdays Independent School League championships, the Episcopal girls cross-country team had five runners finish in the top 16, including freshmen Abby Halm and Virginia Wright in the seventh and eighth spots respectively, to lead the Maroon to the league championship.

EHS (57 points) edged out three-time defending champions National Cathedral (68) and Georgetown Visitation (82) for the crown.

The win was the girls first conference championship since 2003 and saw Halm, Wright, Coles Lawton and Alessandra Galvin earn all-conference honors.

The Episcopal boys squad finished third in the Interstate Athletic Conference championships Saturdays final race led by Tom Peabodys ninth place finish.
